Earlier in the year I was visited by the lovely Shawna from Exploring Edinburgh, an Instagram account & blog which shares little adventures in Edinburgh and beyond. Over on her Instagram she captures the most stunning shots of the city and on the blog she puts together beautifully written guides for anything from where to eat to the best secret gardens hidden in the city.
Shawna came to visit me with very exciting news - she had been approached by a local publisher who had an idea for an alternative guide book of Edinburgh and of course who better to write it than Shawna. I was delighted that Shawna wanted to feature me and my work in the book, under the 'Meet the Locals' section. We had a fun afternoon taking photographs in the studio and putting together a little interview too.
The book is finally here, it's called 'Pockets of Pretty: An Instagrammer's Edinburgh' - it is beautiful and it made me fall in love with Edinburgh all over again.
'Full of little adventures waiting to be enjoyed, of hidden gems and quirky, tucked away surprises. From meandering river walks to cobbled mews lanes and mysterious medieval closes, Pockets of Pretty shares those gorgeous moments of Edinburgh magic. With a local's eye, Shawna Law takes you on a delightful stroll beyond the bustling landmarks. Here you can pop into cute cafés for tea and cake, treat yourself to a beautiful book or one-of-a-kind bouquet, then escape for a moment to a tranquil park or secret garden. A love letter in word and image, come and discover Edinburgh's prettiest pockets as photographer, explorer and admirer.'
You can pick up a copy in Waterstones or on Amazon.
