Ikebana Bowl for Narcissus Flower School

Ikebana Bowl for Narcissus Flower School

I was delighted when Narcissus - an Edinburgh based independent florist & flower school - got in touch with an idea for us to collaborate. They commissioned me to create concrete Ikebana bowls for their upcoming floristry class. At first I didn't know what Ikebana was, I now know it is a Japanese form of flower arranging and it is just beautiful - so delicate and graceful.

We decided on a simple dish shape, and to keep them one colour to fit in with Ikebana minimalist style.

We worked together on a photoshoot of the collaboration in their inspiring flower school. I got to watch the very talented, Cynthia, the teacher of the class at work creating her Ikebana arrangements.

The class will take place on Thursday 19th September at their flower school in Abbeymount, Edinburgh. You will learn basic Ikebana techniques and have the opportunity to create various minimalistic arrangements and you get your very own concrete bowl to take home. You can find out more information and book here.
